FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
An exciting opportunity exists to join the UOWGE Finance team in the role of Financial Accountant. The primary purpose of this role is that of provision of expert accounting services and financial management expertise for the Australian business unit of UOW Global Enterprises (UOWGE), encompassing UOW College Australia (UOWCA).
In addition, this role supports the Group Financial Controller in all aspects of corporate and operational accounting for the Australian entities of the UOWGE Group and the consolidation of the Group. This includes performing month end closing procedures, monthly management reporting, preparation of (consolidated) financial statements, preparation of budgets and regular forecasts, board reporting, taxation monitoring and lodgment, and accounting system and process improvements. The Financial Accountant will demonstrate the UOWGE Corporate Values (passion, innovation, integrity, collaboration, courage, excellence) on a day to day basis. The position works closely with the Group Financial Controller and the management accountant.
The successful applicant will be CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of a degree level qualification in a business discipline, preferably in an accounting field, and have minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar financial accounting role.
Selection Criteria
Essential:
- CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of a degree level qualification in a business discipline, preferably in an accounting field
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar financial accounting role
- High level communication (written, oral) and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook)
- Ability to interact and build relationships with all levels within the organisation
- Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work with conflicting time constraints
- Strong attention for detail and desire to probe further into data
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements and strategies in day to day activities
Desirable:
- Prior experience with a large ERP system, ideally Oracle, is highly beneficial
- Good working knowledge of financial statements and Accounting standards
